Fundraising
The Grimsley PTSA focuses on service rather than fundraising--but the unfortunate reality is that many of our activities require money.  Rather than asking the students or parents to sell magazine subscriptions, tulip bulbs, pizza kits, wrapping paper, or any of the other dozens of products you have undoubtedly purchased from pleading students over the years, our PTSA relies on funding from donations (see Membership) and fundraising activities rather than selling products to neighbors.  Our fundraising activities often not only raise money for our school, but they also provide a wonderful means for parents to get to know one another.  In the past we have had casino nights, ushered at the coliseum, and parked cars at the GGCC.

During the 2008-2009 school year we will continue our school-wide fundraiser –
The Grimsley PTSA Donation Campaign
.  This year’s focus will be funding technology needs across all departments serving all students at GHS. In any economy, it is always important to support education so we know we have done our best to provide a quality education for our entire community. Ultimately all of us – and the economy – benefit from our efforts.
Thank you for your continued support of all students attending Grimsley High School.  We value our tradition of excellence and strive to meet the needs of our students as our world is changing at a rapid pace!  Our mission of the GHS PTSA is to serve and support our students and to ensure our valued tradition of excellence continues for  our entire GHS community.
Your gift to Grimsley High School, in any amount, makes a difference for our students.  We must invest in technological innovation for instruction.  We must foster scientific and technological literacy.  We must have the tools to prepare our youth for their future – for our future. Our youth are worth our efforts!  Our goal is to use your donations to meet the needs of the Grimsley community which are not covered by our school budget.
Our immediate goals:

º    School Pad with flat screen tv to allow teachers and students to use technology interactively

º    Voting clickers to allow students to “vote” for the correct answer (set of 32 so each student is interacting with the teacher)

º    The AP & IB science courses need data collecting hardware (a requirement for those courses)

In acknowledgement of your contributions, we will publish the names of our supporters in our bi-monthly PTSA newsletter.  We will also be happy to indicate donations that are made in honor of a designee, at your request.

Many of your employers will match your contributions to non-profit organizations.  Please check with your personnel or human resources department for details.  We will be happy to complete any forms that you may include with your donation for these purposes.

On behalf of the students and faculty of Grimsley High School we thank you for your donation. Once again, our youth are worth our efforts!

Harris Teeter VIC Card Fundraising

Grimsley has several Together in Education accounts at Harris Teeter which help defray some of the many expenses of our various programs.  If you have a Harris Teeter VIC card, all you have to do is give the cashier your card and ask her to link it to any of our accounts, with the maximum number of accounts being five.  From the one time you do this until the end of the school year, the organization(s) will receive a 2% rebate on any Harris Teeter private label products that you purchase.  If you participated in this program last year, please note that you need to sign up again.  Please take just a moment to sign up--and ask your friends or relatives who shop in any Harris Teeter in NC, SC, VA, GA, or TN to sign up.
