Fundraising 
The Grimsley PTSA focuses on service rather than fundraising--but the unfortunate reality is that many of our activities require money.  Rather than asking the students or parents to sell magazine subscriptions, tulip bulbs, pizza kits, wrapping paper, or any of the other dozens of products you have undoubtedly purchased from pleading students over the years, our PTSA relies on funding from donations (see Membership) and fundraising activities rather than selling products to neighbors.  Our fundraising activities often not only raise money for our school, but they also provide a wonderful means for parents to get to know one another.  In the past we have had casino nights, ushered at the coliseum, and parked cars at the GGCC. 

This year we are raising money by publishing and selling a school directory, organizing a book sale of the summer reading books, and, we hope (depending on school renovations), selling commemorative bricks.  We have signed on with the Funding Factory Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling Programs and ask that you donate your old cell phones and empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges simply by placing them in the collection boxes situated in the the Grimsley Counseling Office.  Grimsley families and friends are also being asked to register their Harris Teeter VIC cards so that one (or up to five) of the Grimsley organizations listed below will receive a rebate on purchases. 

We are also sponsoring Chick-fil-A Grimsley Spirit Nights on the third Thursday of each month. Chick-fil-A allows us to receive a rebate on orders placed at the Friendly Center location between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.   Remember to mention Grimsley when you place your order.   If you have ideas for additional projects, please e-mail us at  ghsptsa@yahoo.com.


Harris Teeter VIC Card Fundraising

Grimsley has several Together in Education accounts at Harris Teeter which help defray some of the many expenses of our various programs.  If you have a Harris Teeter VIC card, all you have to do is give the cashier your card and ask her to link it to any of our accounts, with the maximum number of accounts being five.  From the one time you do this until the end of the school year, the organization(s) will receive a 2% rebate on any Harris Teeter private label products that you purchase.  If you participated in this program last year, please note that you need to sign up again.  Please take just a moment to sign up--and ask your friends or relatives who shop in any Harris Teeter in NC, SC, VA, GA, or TN to sign up.
